This is where we get to share the heartbreaks and the joys we’ve experienced.  Please do not used identifying information in these stories, I don’t want to have to delete them.

  1. Mothers Day 2007

    May 13, 2007

    When a Child Cries
    By A M

when a mother cannot be there
and a child is in need of loving care

and though at first they feel so sad and alone
you open your hand and welcome them home

you carry then close at heart
and I know that when they leave, it just tears you apart

but on your shoulder, thay they cry
and in your dreams, shall they fly

and they fly, they fly so high, they fly away
they fly to a safe place where they feel no pain

i know this much is true
because when it happened to me, god sent me you

and you welcomed me into a world of dreams
a world without any nightmare screams

and I wanted to say thank you
for caring that much, caring as much as you do

    always foster daughter AM

  2. We had the pleasure of viewing the video below at the foster parent appreciation event in Olympia on May 6th. I thought it was well done, it is short and highlights foster youth with their success stories with foster parents, caseworkers and with mentors. Enjoy…
